| Shinobi Reborn Guide : Rank Information Academy Student Students in the academy aren't considered ninja until they graduate. They are taught the basics of being a ninja, such as martial arts, physical fitness and the way of a ninja and take practical and formal tests. They are also taught how to handle weapons, such as a kunai. After they graduate, they are rewarded with a hitai-ate, a headband serving as a forehead protector.
Genin Genin are the lowest level of ninja. They are put into a 3-man squad with a Jounin team leader. They are usually sent on either D or C-rank missions which are almost entirely manual labour. The make-up of the teams is based on the shinobi's skills.
Chuunin Chuunin are ninja who guide other ninja and are capable of watching over them. They are typically sent on C or B-rank missions. To become a Chuunin, a Genin must participate in the "Chuunin Exams." The option of taking the exam with your team is optional. Having become a Chuunin, they can wear an identifying vest, holding ninjutsu scrolls.
Jounin Jounin are generally highly-experienced ninja with great individual skill. They are often sent on A-rank missions, and experienced Jounin may even be sent on S-rank missions. They may also carry out these missions alone. They are sometimes assigned as sensei for three-person teams of Genin. Most Jounin are able to use at least two types of elemental jutsu.
ANBU The ANBU protect the village from exceptional threats, conduct high-risk missions into enemy countries, and deal with extremely strong ninja. They are also responsible for carrying out assassinations and missions requiring specially trained ninja. ANBU is an organization that serves under the direct command of their Kage.
Kage Those who have achieved the title of Kage are the leaders of the five most powerful Hidden Villages and generally the most powerful ninja in their respective villages. The Kage stand equally with the rulers of their countries, oversee the activities of their villages, and are the leaders of ninja society.
The five Kage have different titles depending on their village. Those titles are:
Hokage - Kage of Konohagakure. Kazekage - Kage of Sunagakure. Raikage - Kage of Kumogakure. Mizukage - Kage of Kirigakure. Tsuchikage - Kage of Iwagakure.Other RanksAkatsuki The Akatsuki kanji means daybreak, breaking down the word itself gives us "aka" meaning red [a common color in the group] and "tsuki" meaning moon. This Organization is a collection of S-Ranked criminals. Many of these are missing-nins who fled their villages after causing death and destruction.
The Legendary Nine The Legendary Nine are neutral with all villages, including the minor countries. They serve as a peacekeeper in a way, but not all members in the Legendary Nine are believed to be good. Some have been known to cause chaos amung the villages, resulting in some rivalry. The Legendary Nine have equal strengths and weaknesses when compared to a Kage. | |
